Capri’s Charlotte City Guide
Charlotte, North Carolina, is a vibrant city known for its Southern charm and hospitality. It's a fantastic destination for shopping, dining, and exciting events. Our North Carolina stylist, Capri, has put together a city guide to help you get the most out of this fun city!
SHOPPING
When it comes to shopping, Charlotte has some top destinations. My favorite area to shop around is SouthPark — particularly Phillips Place shopping center. The shops along Fairview Road, Carnegie Blvd, and Sharon Road are also fun options for those wanting to visit boutiques and showrooms. If you’re looking to find great deals, try The Charlotte Premium Outlets in South Charlotte. Malls like SouthPark Mall, Concord Mills, Northlake Mall, and Carolina Place Mall provide a more diverse shopping experience with lots of stores to choose from.
In addition to these malls, Charlotte's shopping scene also includes a number of unique shops and specialty stores found throighout. Areas like SouthPark also offer a variety of dining options, making it a great destination for a full day of shopping and eating. Whether you're looking for high-end fashion or unique local finds, Charlotte has something for every shopper.
DINING
In terms of dining, Charlotte has a lot to offer. SouthPark is known for its food scene, with restaurants like Roosters, Reids, Dilworth Tasting Room, and Mizu offering exceptional experiences. For those craving Korean BBQ, JINYA Ramen Bar (locations in SouthPark and Uptown) and Yume are fantastic options. BBQ lovers shouldn't miss Macs Speed Shop and Midwood Smokehouse, and for savory Southern food, Haberdish, Famous Toastery, and The Artisans Palate are great choices. Upscale dining options include The Fig Tree, Stagioni, Restoration Hardware Rooftop, and STK Steakhouse. These places offer high quality food with a luxurious ambience. Pizza enthusiasts can enjoy Salud Cerveceria, Benny Pennellos, and Intermezzo Pizzeria. And don’t miss out on our amazing sweet treats at places like Two Scoops, Jenis Icecream, or Golden Cow Creamery!
ACTIVITES
Charlotte offers a variety of activities and attractions. Sports fans can catch games of the Panthers football, Knights baseball, Soccer with the Charlotte FC, Hornets basketball, and Hockey with the AHL Checkers. Entertainment spaces like Pin & Mechanical Arcade in SouthEnd, Camp NorthEnd in 3rd Ward, and Optimist Hall in Noda offer fun experiences. Museums and gardens are plentiful, with attractions like the Museum of Illusions, Discovery Place for Kids, Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens on Lake Wylie, and the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Thrill-seekers can visit Carowinds Amusement Park and the US National Whitewater Center.
For nightlife, my favorites include AvidXchange Music Factory in Third Ward as well as Broken Promises and Lost and Found in the South End. Rooftop bars like Aura, Merchant & Trade, and Buho Bar offer a great atmosphere for enjoying cocktails with friends.
Charlotte truly has something for everyone, making it an exciting destination to explore.
